In the familial sphere, mercy manifests through principles like amicable cohabitation (muʿāsharah bi-l-maʿrūf), with affection (mawaddah) and beneficence (iḥsān) as foundational pillars of spousal relationships, even in challenging circumstances. The Quran advocates for kindness and mutual respect, ensuring women's dignity within the family. Socially, the Quran presents women as exemplars for the faithful, citing figures like Asiya, a symbol of faith and resistance against oppression, and Maryam, a model of chastity and purity. These examples highlight women's elevated status in the believing community.
